Yulu LIU has a Master of Laws degree (2017) in International Law and a Bachelor of Laws degree (2015) from Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), China. She obtained a China Scholarship Council- University of Wollongong Joint Scholarship for her PhD Program at ANCORS. She was 2016 W.T. Chan Fellow of Lingnan Foundation. During this fellowship program, she was a visiting student at University of California, Berkeley and a Fellow at the Chinese Progressive Association in San Francisco's Chinatown, where she acted as a community organiser at the Tenant Worker Center to organise, educate and empower Chinese immigrants to fight for better living and working conditions.
Yulu’s interest in Law of the Sea and Marine Environmental Law started in 2015 when she was writing her graduation thesis for her bachelor's degree. Under the supervision of Dean and Professor Yao HUANG at SYSU, Yulu carried out research on her proposed topic and decided to continue her studies at ANCORS.
