Biography: 

Toni Cannard is a transdisciplinary coastal ecological economist with CSIRO’s coastal research theme, she also has a supporting science role resulting in the opportunity to work on many research projects. Some examples including management strategy evaluation, water quality, ecological restoration, economics, and near real-time information systems. 

Through the CSIRO Coastal Collaboration cluster, Toni is also experienced in the social science aspects of coastal science. Toni co-leads the Slacks Creek Catchment Restoration Caring for our Country project funded by the Australian Federal Government. Toni currently works on several other projects including the Australian Coastal Ecosystem TERN Facility, and the CSIRO Coastal Carbon cluster. She recently worked on the FRDC (Fisheries Research and Development Corporation) Social indicators for fisheries project and the Economic survey of the Queensland Commercial Coral Reef Fin-Fish Fishery.’
