Dr Kresno BUNTORO
Kresno Buntoro finished his PhD (Ocean and Trans national Security) from the University of Wollongong, Australia in 2010. He received an Australian Leadership Award for his PhD. His thesis is entitled “An Analysis on the Legal Issues relating to Navigational Regimes through and over Indonesia Waters”. His research includes an analysis of current Indonesian policies and legislation on navigation and identifies reforms needed within Indonesia’s national legal and policy frameworks. Kresno Buntoro has served in the Indonesian Navy since 1989 and currently holds the rank of Captain.
His research interests include ocean and trans-national security, maritime boundary delimitation, maritime security, defence strategy and diplomacy, and international humanitarian law, on which topics he has some papers and books published in English and in Bahasa Indonesia
